ITHACA CAMPUS

Hammerstone School in downtown Ithaca is located on a one way street.

  • There are two entrances with a small divider for our parking lot.  

  • Free on street parking in available on W Green St. 

  • Some GPS applications will have you enter on W State St. Just keep driving through the parking lot and over speed bumps. There is a small alleyway on the right that connects the two parking lots just before you exit onto W Green St.

TRUMANSBURG CAMPUS

There are two driveways leading to the Hammerstone School property: 

  • The north driveway with the mail boxes is the residence driveway.  

  • The south driveway with the Hammerstone sign leads directly to our parking lot outside of the teaching barn where some of our summer classes take place. 

  • Use this driveway for ALL classes at the Trumansburg campus.

Where are you coming from?

  • PLANE
    Approx. 1.5 hour flight

    Route:

    • Fly direct from John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK) to Ithaca Tompkins International Airport (ITH)

    CAR

    Approx. 4.5 to 5 hours

    Route:

    • Take I-80 W to I-380 N

    • Merge onto I-81 N toward Binghamton

    • Exit onto NY-79 W to Ithaca

    BUS

    Approx. 3.75 to 6 hours

    Options: OurBus (fastest option is 3 hours and 45 minutes from the George Washington Bridge Bus Terminal). Other options include Greyhoundand FlixBus.

    • Departure: Port Authority, Midtown Manhattan, or George Washington Bridge Bus Terminal.

    • Arrival: Downtown Ithaca

    • From bus stop to campus:

      • Downtown Ithaca: 15 min walk from most terminals. Uber, Lyft, and taxis are available.

      • Trumansburg: Uber, Lyft, and taxis are available but can be spotty in the evening. Check with your lodging host as many have transportation options in and around the Finger Lakes.

  • PLANE
    Approx. 1.5 hour flight

    Route:

    • Fly direct from Dulles International Airport (IAD) to Ithaca Tompkins International Airport (ITH)

    From airport to campus:

    • ITH Airport is approx. 20 minutes from Hammerstone. Uber, Lyft, local taxis, and rental cars available.

      • TCAT Bus: TCAT offers regular bus service from the airport to downtown Ithaca. Routes 32 and 72 provide direct service to the Commons. 

      • Our downtown location is a 7-10 min walk from the Ithaca Commons

    CAR
    Approx. 6 to 7 hours This is a very scenic drive!

    Route:

    • Take I-270 N to I-70 W

    • Merge onto I-76 W (Pennsylvania Turnpike)

    • Take I-81 N toward Binghamton

    • Exit onto NY-79 W to Ithaca

    BUS
    Approx. 8 to 10 hours (with transfers).

    Options: Greyhound, FlixBus, OurBus (transfer in NYC or Binghamton typically required)

    Departure: Union Station (D.C.) or area transit hubs

    Arrival: Downtown Ithaca.

    Departure: Syracuse Regional Transportation Center or Syracuse University area

    Arrival: Downtown Ithaca

    Arrival: Tompkins County Library, Downtown Ithaca. Service operates Monday through Friday, once daily.

    From bus stop to campus:
